About WiSE University

WiSE University (previously named SWE University) is a program for female students entering 11th and 12th grade who are interested in Engineering. It is designed to empower young women to pursue engineering degrees with confidence and provides opportunities to connect with Iowa State students, faculty and staff.

Schedule & Dates

WiSE University is scheduled for July 8-13, 2018. 

Participants spend 6 days (5 nights) at ISU exploring engineering fields and engaging in hands-on projects. They stay in the Residence Halls with undergraduate students who act as mentors. Participants visit various locations around campus and the Ames community in order to learn about engineering majors and careers, and experience life as a Cyclone. WiSE University is made possible through a partnership between the College of Engineering, Society of Women Engineers (SWE) and the Program for Women in Science and Engineering (WiSE).

 Applications will be accepted through May 1, 2018. There is a $400 registration fee that covers scheduled activities, meals, and housing.  Need based scholarships are available. Contact wiseoutreach@iastate.edu to learn more.
