Tutoring
WiSE partners with the Colleges of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Engineering, Human Sciences and Liberal Arts and Sciences to support students academically each semester. Students are eligible for one science, engineering or math course each semester while enrolled in a STEM major at Iowa State. Funds are limited and first and second year students will receive priority.
How to Request a Tutor
- Complete a paper tutoring request form in the WiSE Office, 218 Carver Hall.
- Complete an online tutoring request application.
Supplemental Instruction
Supplemental Instruction (SI) is a voluntary program that offers free, regularly scheduled study sessions for traditionally difficult courses. SI sessions are offered for more than 30 courses. Specific information and instruction schedule for the current semester can be located by clicking on the above link.
Help Rooms
Several departments on campus maintain help rooms offering free assistance to student needing help with material from various courses, including: Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering Mechanics, Math, Physics, Statistics. Help room locations and hours vary.
Planners
All WiSE students are eligible to receive a free WiSE academic planner! Stop into the WiSE Office at 218 Carver. Supplies are limited.
