Places I've Lived:

I’m all about Iowa! I have lived in Council Bluffs, Des Moines, and Oskaloosa, and now call West Des Moines home.

Educational Background:

B.A., Biology and Chemistry
M.A., Biology
Ed. D., Educational Leadership with a focus on science education

Best part of Your Job:

The best part of my job is working with amazing team members, including WiSE staff, students, campus and corporate partners, and donors who are all committed to advancing gender equity in STEM. I love working together to develop interesting, engaging opportunities so that our WiSE students persist and thrive in their chosen STEM communities.

Advice to Students:

Be curious - the most exciting parts of life are often found at the spaces “in between” and at the edges where you must poke around to find them. Be brave - try things that are challenging and that you aren’t sure you can accomplish..

Favorite Quote:

When you ask the best questions of yourself and others, you invite the best answers. -Angela Bassett

Interests/Hobbies:

Spending time with family and friends, reading, Pilates and weightlifting, listening to podcasts (especially Short Wave science podcast), walking (especially with my husband, Doug, and dog, Bella), and travelling. My husband is a band director, so I also spend lots of time at marching, jazz, and concert band performances!
